Gillanet Member Agreement

All Gillanet Internet Service customers enter into a service agreement by virtue of using our products and services.

Service Agreement Terms and Conditions

These Internet servers are operated by Gillanet. Your agreement for Internet Services is strictly with Gillanet and no other party is authorized to modify the following policies in any way. 

Gillanet will supply network connectivity, disk space, and access to servers.

ALLOWABLE USE POLICY 

You may not use nor allow any of your customers to use any facilities, computers, or servers of Gillanet or Goodwin Advertising, Inc. for: 
1.Any illegal act; 
2.Any repetitive, unattended or automated process; 
3.Any UNSOLICITED email or message sent to more than 15 recipients. 
Violation of this acceptable use policy may result in termination of the account. In addition, there may be civil and criminal penalties for sending unsolicited email. Violation of the unsolicited email rule will result in immediate termination of the account. No refunds will be made for unused portions of that service in this case.

DIALUP POLICIES

Our dialup connections are not dedicated connections. A dialup account is an account that can be used by a single user for an unlimited length session. This means he can log in and stay logged in for several hours, as long as he is actively using his computer to access the internet. However, there are some actions that are prohibited:

1. The customer cannot run an unattended or automated process that keeps the line open while he is not in front of the computer. Thus, he cannot run a mail server, web server, or any other kind of server; nor can he run an automatic mail checker.

2. The customer cannot share his login codes with any other user, except for members of his immediate family living under the same roof. Thus, multiple members of an office cannot share a single username and password; they must each have their own. The same thing applies to school members, boy scout troops, church members, and every other kind of group. It also means the account cannot be used by a child while away at college. The use of proxy servers or other means of sharing a single modem connection throughout an office are prohibited on dialup accounts.

If two or more users are connected at the same time using the same login code, further logins by that user will be prohibited.

On Networks F, K, and Q1, we are required by our network providers to restrict accounts that reach a total usage of 150 hours in a month. On Networks A and D, we are required by our network providers to restrict accounts that reach a total usage of 2000 hours in a month. On Network E we are required by our network provider to restrict accounts that reach a total usage of 325  hours in a month. On Networks B, C, I, N, and Q we are required by our network provider to restrict accounts that reach a total usage of 400  hours in a month. After reaching that limit, the user will not be allowed to login for the remainder of the month. Since these limits are set by our network providers, they may change from time to time. Please contact us if you are unsure of which network you are on, or if you would like to switch networks.


Technical Support

Our technical support staff is available to assist you with any technical problems you may have. Technical support is available at 1-413-667-5702 from 8:30AM to 5:30PM ET Monday through Friday. In addition, there is a 24 hour paging system to notify us of network emergencies.

Telephone Charges 

You are solely responsible to determine whether an access number is local. Gillanet is not responsible for any telephone charges incurred in accessing our network. (You can determine if a number is local by looking in the front of your phone book or by calling your operator and asking for a rate check.)

Gillanet and Goodwin Advertising, Inc. disclaim any responsibility for damages resulting from lack of connectivity, including, but not limited to, loss of business from failure of web pages to serve, and losses resulting from undelivered e-mail, both sent and received. We also disclaim any responsibility for any information you may receive over the internet. We provide connectivity to the internet, which is a vast collection of networked computers all over the world. Some of these computers may contain material that is illegal or offensive in a variety of ways. You are solely responsible for what you view and what you do with that information. You are also solely responsible to monitor others, including children, who may have access to your computer; and to control what material they can access. 

Billing Policies

We will bill you at the beginning of each month for that month. Accounts opened or closed during the month will be prorated to the actual number of days in use.

Payment is due by the 15th of the following month. If payments are not received on time, your account may be deactivated, which means you would be denied access to our network and servers.
